Service — Small-batch production

Short runs, taken seriously

Small-batch gown production for labels and boutiques that cannot commit to a large run but still need the craft level the style was designed around.

Quantities

What short runs mean here

There is no single minimum that applies to every style. Quantity is assessed per project.

What a run can be depends on how complex the style is, which materials it uses and how much craft it carries. A heavily beaded gown with hand-placed work loads differently from a plain crepe sheath, and the two are not judged on the same assumption.

Quantities are quoted in tiers. Larger quantities usually carry a lower unit price, and small runs carry a higher one. The tier that applies to your order is confirmed in the project quote.

A short run can be commissioned on its own, and it does not have to follow a development program. Quantity, unit price, schedule and which materials you supply are set in the quote, and a first order can be quoted in tiers before you commit.

Confirmed before the line starts

Before production starts

Production follows a sample you have approved and checked. These are the points that are then confirmed, in writing, before anything is cut for the run.

01

Design and fit

Design details, pattern and fit, and the size chart and specifications the run will be measured against.

02

Materials and craft

Fabric, color and trims, the embellishment technique, and the decisions on lining, corsetry, boning and internal structure.

03

Quantity and packing

How the quantity splits across colors and sizes, and the packaging and labels your garments ship in.

Pricing position

Focused on craft, not on the lowest unit price

If the brief is to find the cheapest possible unit price, this studio is not the right partner, and we would rather say that early than after a quote.

The work here is built around gown craft: structure, finish and handwork that a low-cost line cannot carry. Projects that compete only on price are not the projects this studio is set up for.

What we can do is tell you plainly what a given style costs at the finish level you want, and where that cost actually sits.

Questions

Before you plan a run

Is there a minimum order?

There is no single minimum that applies to everything. The quantity that can run depends on the style, the materials and the craft involved, and it is assessed per project.

Why is a small run more expensive per piece?

Setup, pattern work, sampling and material handling are spread across fewer pieces. Larger quantities usually carry a lower unit price and small runs carry a higher one, and both are quoted in tiers.

Does the style have to be sampled first?

In most projects, yes. A physical sample is made, checked and approved before the line starts, and it becomes the reference the production floor works to.
